Description
A mid-century modern swivel armchair constructed from bent rattan poles. The design features a circular bucket-style seat with a high rounded back and integrated armrests. The structure consists of thick peripheral frames with vertical rattan slats forming the back and seat, secured with traditional rattan bindings. The seat is supported by a substantial cylindrical pedestal base comprised of horizontally coiled rattan. The central seat area contains a flat wood-composite or plywood base designed to accommodate a cushion. The design is in the style of mid-20th century designers such as Franco Albini or Viggo Boesen. No maker marks or labels are visible.
