Lot 83:
Description
A mid-century modern teak-veneered bookcase and record cabinet of single-piece construction. The unit features a right-hand section enclosed by two clear sliding glass doors, containing two full-width shelves for display. The left-hand section consists of a cupboard with a hinged wooden door, fitted with a circular turned wooden knob and mounted on two small external hinges. The interior of the left cupboard is fitted with three vertical dividers at the base, designed for the organisation of vinyl records or magazines. A thin, gilt-toned decorative strip runs along the upper front edge of the cabinet. No manufacturer marks, stamps, or labels are visible on the exterior or interior. The design is consistent with British furniture production from the 1960s and 1970s, resembling pieces produced by manufacturers such as Meredew.
